WHAT DO I DO?

To run the module switching script, simply gain root privileges and
	type:

	./switchmods

WHAT ARE THESE FILES?

precompiled/r8168.ko.v5.16-generic
A compiled version of the module, that is confirmed to work on
2.6.24-16-generic x86_64 SMP. If you don't want to try the script, and
want to avoid the hassle of compiling the module, just try to plug this
into your kernel in place of r8169. Be sure to blacklist 8169, move it
from its original location, and make a new initrd image. Make sure
	you know what you're doing.

precompiled/r8168.ko.v6.1*-generic
These files, for 16, 17, 18, and 19, are the same as the above except
compiled against the v6 source. Seems to work fine.

precompiled/r8168.ko.v8.19-generic
The latest build of r8168 version 8 for hardy kernel 19-generic.

precompiled/r8168.ko.v8.21-generic
The latest build of r8168 version 8 for hardy kernel 21-generic.

precompiled/r8168.ko.v9.21-generic
	Ditto w/ v9 driver

precompiled/r8168.ko.v13.2.6.28-13-generic
Build of version 13 driver source for a 9.04 kernel (as above)

r8168-8.013.00/
Latest vanilla driver source from Realtek.

README
	This file.

switchmods
Script to automatically replace r8169 module with Realtek's r8168
driver. This should help solve connectivity issues for users of Hardy
Heron 8.04. It may also work for other kernels, although I have not
tested it on them. Let me know if you try and it *doesn't* work.
