MAS SN20 serial number or age

Hi!

I'm a new member from Finland. I'm sorry that I don't speak Czech language. But since my new lathe is from your country, I thought that this is best place to ask.

So, I have an old lathe which has MAS text on the front side of gear box and TOS text backside of the slide. I'm sure that the model is SN20-1500, but I would like to know, if there is some serial number placed somewhere or some other way to find out, what year this lathe is manufactured. I have noticed from videos and images on the internet, that there are differencies in electricity box, spindle lubricating pipes, cooling motor pump and probably some other parts between SN20 lathes. My lathe has only one electric motor and cooling pump is driven by main motor with belt. I think some models has small electric pump for cooling liquid.
I'll try to attach some pictures also...

I would be thankful, if would get some hints, how to find out, what is approximately the manufacturing year. I guess, it is somewhere between 1939 and 2023 .

Hi, I'm not an expert on these lathes, nor do I speak English, I'm writing through a translator. But if you have a TOS label on the lathe, it was made after 1948 and was probably made before 1989 at the latest. I probably didn't help you much, but I slightly refined your search.

Yes, it has MAS logo on front side and TOS logo on the back side. I'll try to check the motor label. Unfortunately someone has painted the whole lathe, so the label has also thick paint, so I need to remove the paint first to see anything...
But 48-55 is rather good range already, thanks!

On the lower right corner there is 55-9CSN014990 text. Could the first 55 be manufacturing year?

part of the text ČSN 014990 means Československá Státní Norma No. 014990
it is norm about cylindrical ends of shafts
i dont see reason why first part of this sign would be a YOP
I would wait sign "1955" or similar in separate part of label

serial number of lathe will be punched out on the right end of bed maybe
the same No. will be on the spindle box and other main parts of lathe

SNxx lathes used to have the serial number stamped here, it may be filled with dried oil. Try cleaning it out with gasoline, maybe it'll show up

I didn't find any numbers yet on the slides, but on the end there was following numbers...
